Translations of technical documentation for a new paper mill in Estonia

Suppliers of technological equipment for a newly built paper mill in Estonia approached our Austrian client with a request to translate all technical documentation for the assembly and operation of technology into Estonian. As one member of the supplying consortium was from Austria and the other one from Sweden, the documentation was partly in German and partly in English. The client requested the creation and use of a translation memory such as the Trados software. Our Austrian client asked us to locate and coordinate translators and to provide the translation into Estonian. Initially we took only part of the translation work, in cooperation with our translation partners in Estonia. However, after other translating companies failed to complete their part of the project, we took over all the work and coordinated the entire translation, including proofreading of the demanding technical project documentation. The work on the translations lasted from February until September 2005.
Four to five translators participated in the project simultaneously. Some new terminology had to be created because, until that point, it did not exist in the Estonian language. Our client appreciated the flexibility and reliability of our services, as well as our reasonable price (thanks to our local contacts in Estonia).

Translation of regulations and documentation on railway interoperability system implementation for the European Commission

In February 2005 Agentúra ONLINE obtained an order for the translation of basic documents on interoperability (readiness and interconnection of communication and security railway systems in individual countries for trains to operate without additional facilities) from English into Slovak. After the delivery of our translation, the European Commission expressed their satisfaction with the quality of our work and we have since carried out all the accompanying project documentation. The technical texts were often very demanding, frequently containing disunited terminology in the original documents. The translation lasted from February to May of 2005.

Long term interpreting during the implementation of a new production in an industrial establishment

In December, one of our clients, a large machinery construction company, asked us to provide interpreting services for a foreign team implementing new technology in the company over a period of several months. This would not have been an unusual request if it weren't for the need to interpret from and into Flemish, a language very similar to Dutch. There are only about five Flemish-speaking interpreters in Slovakia. After a challenging search we managed to find several of them who took turns in the company. It was very demanding, full-time work for one or more weeks (even several months for some) directly in the production hall. Together with our client we planned the operation of individual interpreters, managed capacities, accommodation and further requirements. Our client was very satisfied with the flow of the entire project.
